The Geoenvironmental Engineering Group is looking for a highly motivated PhD student to conduct research in the frame of the NSF funded project “A Bottom-up Approach to Design of Chemical Soil Stabilization Using Thermodynamic Modeling”. The project description is available herehttps://www.nsf.gov/
Research will entail chemical and spectroscopic analyses, as well as thermodynamic modeling of lime- and cement-stabilized soils. Graduates with a BS or MS in civil, environmental or chemical engineering with some lab experience are desired, along with good English communication skills.
The position includes tuition waiver and a full stipend according to University of Connecticut rates for a three-year time period, starting in the Spring semester 2018. Information on the Environmental Engineering Program can be found in http://environ.engr.uconn.
